Let’s fuel your goals PRs, finish lines, and steady glucose

I’m here to help you crush your workouts and race with confidence—without the bonks, GI drama, or “what do I even eat?” stress. Whether you’re chasing Boston or Kona, tackling your first ultra, or simply want to stay healthy and injury‑free, we’ll build a plan that fits your training, your glucose patterns, and your real life. I’ll teach you the why and the how, so fueling becomes one less thing to worry about.

Performance Nutrition for
Endurance Athletes

Marathon, 70.3, Ironman, ultras—long days demand smart fueling. We’ll lock in your carb/hour, fluids, and sodium, test it in training, and head into race day with a plan you trust. More energy, fewer injuries, zero guesswork.

We’ll build race‑ready plans for marathon, half‑Ironman, Ironman, and ultras—matched to your course, weather, and pacing strategy.

What to eat before, during, and after key sessions so you perform, recover, and avoid the spike‑crash cycle.

Exactly what, when, and how much: gels/chews/drinks/real food—plus “if this, then that” contingencies for lows, highs, nausea, or cramps.

Personal fluid and sodium targets based on sweat rate and conditions—no guessing, no hyponatremia, no late‑race fade.

Product choice, timing, and a 4–6 week gut‑training protocol to tame runner’s stomach and keep you moving forward.

How to tweak fueling and hydration for hot/humid days, altitude races, and technical courses.

Structured long‑run/brick tests with simple logs so we can analyze and fine‑tune well before race day.

Everyday Nutrition for
Training Life

Performance starts in your everyday meals. We’ll keep it simple and doable—meals, timing, and recovery that support your training, your schedule, and your sanity.

Diabetes‑friendly, performance‑forward options you’ll actually enjoy—balanced plates, quick snacks, easy swaps.

When and how often to eat based on your training blocks and glucose patterns—steady energy all day.

Carb‑protein‑fluid combos that speed repair and set you up for your next workout without GI fallout.

Real‑world guidance for busy weeks and race travel so your plan works anywhere.

Small, smart adjustments that respect recovery and health. No restrictive fads. Reduce-REDs risk.

Targeted recs (and when to skip) based on goals, labs, and tolerance—only what truly helps.

Diabetes Nutrition for
Endurance Athletes

Racing with Type 1, Type 2, prediabetes, or PCOS? You’re in the right place. As a CDCES and endurance athlete, I’ll help you read your data, spot patterns, and fuel with confidence on training days and race day.

Deep dive into Dexcom Clarity or LibreView to find trends and align fueling, insulin/meds, and session timing.

How different foods, intensities, and timing affect your glucose—and how to adjust without guesswork.

A practical look at your baseline diet with tweaks to stabilize glucose and support training (no perfection required).

Guidance on aligning doses/timing with workouts and races, plus safe test‑in‑training workflows and team coordination as needed.

Simple steps to treat lows without rebound highs and manage highs without derailing your day.

CGM alert thresholds, carry kits, crew instructions, and race‑day contingencies—so you can focus on moving.

I’ll collaborate with your physician/diabetes team when helpful to keep everyone on the same page.

Now Accepting Insurance

Many athletes pay little to nothing out of pocket. Aetna, Anthem, and Cigna often cover preventive nutrition counseling. Medicare covers diabetes MNT. Upload your insurance card to check your benefits. We’ll help you navigate what’s covered.

Ready to dial in your fueling?

Let’s kick-start your goals with a focused 90-minute initial consultation.

We’ll dig into your health history, training, concerns, and current eating patterns. Together we’ll create a customized plan that fits your goals, lifestyle, and glucose patterns. Available nationwide via telehealth.

Working Together Without Insurance

Choose flexible follow-ups or a package. Available nationwide via telehealth.

Lifestyle change takes time. The initial session is comprehensive, but real progress comes from testing and refining together. I recommend at least 2-3 follow-ups; most athletes benefit from a series through race day. Packages are approximately 20% less than individual rates and are available to those not using insurance.

Frequently Asked Questions

All major credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted. Receipts are emailed after each visit.

Yes. I’m in network with Aetna, Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and Medicare. Medicare Advantage may or may not be covered depending on the carrier administering your plan. Have your card handy and reach out so we can check.

If your plan isn’t listed, I can provide a superbill (itemized medical invoice) after your visit so you can submit for potential reimbursement.

You can also use an HSA/FSA card to pay.

Medicare covers Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for diabetes and kidney disease (not on dialysis).

Medicare does not cover MNT for prediabetes.

A physician referral is required (must be signed by an MD or DO. Medicare will not accept referrals from PAs or NPs).

The referral should say “nutrition counseling/MNT,” include your diagnosis and ICD‑10 code(s), and for kidney disease, the stage.

If you are on dialysis, Medicare will not cover this type of visit.

Yes. Some plans require a letter of medical necessity or a physician referral on file. Please check with your plan before your visit.

Before your first session you’ll get a secure, HIPAA‑compliant client portal link to complete intake forms and upload your insurance card (optional).

You’ll receive a text/email reminder with your video link. You can join from phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop; mobile devices may prompt you to download the app.

Sessions are conducted on a medical‑grade telehealth platform.

I currently offer telehealth to clients located in these states at the time of the appointment:

  • Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin

Many commercial plans (Aetna, Cigna, Anthem) cover nutrition counseling under preventive benefits when criteria are met. For diabetes care, Medicare provides coverage when requirements are met. Coverage varies by plan; verification is key.

Usually no. Many commercial plans do not require a referral for nutrition counseling, but some do. If your plan needs one, we’ll let you know during benefits verification.

You can self‑pay and request a superbill to submit for possible out‑of‑network reimbursement. HSA/FSA cards are also accepted.

Nope. CGM data (Dexcom/Libre) is incredibly helpful if you have it, but we can work from fingersticks, training logs, and symptoms.

It depends on your goals and timeline. Most athletes benefit from at least 2-3 follow‑ups after the initial consult. Long‑course race prep, diabetes management, and GI troubleshooting typically do best with a series (e.g., 6 visits) so we can test and fine‑tune before race day.

Ideally, 8-12 weeks before your A‑race. That gives us time to test your fueling plan during long runs/bricks and lock in race‑day execution.

Yes. I love working with endurance athletes of all levels, with or without diabetes.

Case‑by‑case for high school athletes, depending on schedule/guardian involvement. Reach out and we’ll see if it’s a fit.

I’m not an eating disorder specialist. If you’re actively struggling with an eating disorder, I’ll refer you to an ED‑specialized team. If you have a past history and are currently stable, we can often work together with appropriate boundaries.

Complete your intake forms, upload your insurance card (optional), and share 3 days of food + training logs. If you use a CGM, have Dexcom Clarity or LibreView ready so we can review together.

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel. Late cancellations and no‑shows may be charged the session fee.

Call the number on your insurance card and ask:

  • “Do I have coverage for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) or nutrition counseling with a registered dietitian?”
  • “Is it covered under preventive benefits? Is a referral required?”
  • “Which CPT codes are covered (e.g., 97802, 97803)? Any visit limits or copays?”
  • “Are telehealth visits covered? Do I need to use specific platforms?”

Tip: Write down the representative’s name, date, and a reference number for your call.

Yes. Currently I can help verify benefits; you’ll upload your card and DOB. In the future I may provide a simple script so you can call your plan directly.
